    William "Bill" Patrick Conrath, 57, passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2002. Bill was born in Creve Coeur, MO, the son of Rose and John Conrath. He graduated from Ladue High School in 1963 and served in the United States Air Force at Richards Gebaur from 1964-66. In 1966 he began his career with W.T. Grant in Kansas City, MO, as the General Manager. He was Vice President of Douglas Products and Packaging in Liberty, MO, from 1971-2002. Bill was a member of The Kansas City Club and an avid supporter of many civic organizations in town. He especially loved the Lyric, the Kansas City Symphony and Friends of the Zoo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and John Conrath. He is survived by his friend and companion of more than 25 years, Jimmie D. Mooney; his sister, Dorothy Linnenman and her husband, Harry of Ballwin, MO; and his brothers, Tommy Conrath and his wife, Mary of St. Louis, MO and Robert Conrath of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He leaves nine nieces and nephews to mourn his death. Bill will be missed terribly by his lifelong friends, Hank and Maude, and the many friends he had throughout the world and most especially here in the United States. The "Little General," as he had been called for many years, will be missed by all who came in contact with him. He changed us all and always for the better.     We remain in the Washington DC area, in the northern Virginia suburb of Vienna in the vicinity of McLean/Tyson's Corner. Bill continues to work on the integration and planning of our National Missle Defense Program. I still have my group tour business taking groups all over the U.S. and Europe. Older son Bill is soon to be promoted to Major in the US Army, currently on a teaching assignment at West Point. He is married and has three precious little girls, Allie, Torie and Lillie. Younger son, John, just completed Marine OCS and is a 2LT in the Marine Corps. He will be going to Pensacola for flight training soon. We are enjoying life here in the Washington area and invite anyone who gets this way to give a call.

Krem, Carey and Franklin Engle; Loving son of Bebe and David Krem; Beloved son-in-law of the late Patricia and Budd Boyd; Dear brother of Neal (Charleen) Krem; Grandfather of Samuel M. Krem; Our dear brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend. Barry earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Metallurgical Engineering in Rolla at the Missouri University School of Mines. He also earned an MBA from Saint Louis University. After spending the first 20 years of his career working as a metallurgist in several steel manufacturing operations, he was offered the opportunity to manage the daily operations of Reliable Finishing Company, a business started in 1948 by his parents and his Uncle Sam and Aunt Helen Wool. After the business closed in 2004, Barry and his wife formed a graphic design company that currently operates in Overland, Missouri. Barry valued and insisted upon providing the highest level of service to each and every customer. His simple motto was: We're here to help. Mr. McCollum was born in St. Louis, a son of James A. McCollum and Catherine E. Dinger McCollum. He was a graduate of Ladue High School in St. Louis and Trinity University in San Antonio. He was a member of John's Island Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Manne McCollum; two sons, J. Scott McCollum of Magoyo, Japan, and J. Chris McCollum of Austin, Texas; a sister, Catherine Ann M. Alexander of Blairsville, Ga.; and a brother, J. Charles McCollum of Kiawah Island.     Marc Schmelzer, 55, of Houston, Texas, son of a Bloomington woman, died at 7:28 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 20, 2000) at Houston. Marc graduated from Washington University where he was a member of SAM Fraternity. He relocated to Houston in 1970 and joined the Executive Training Program at Foley's and was very successful as a career merchant. Marc was for many years in the wholesale jewelry business, traveling nationwide. He will best be remembered by his many colleagues and friends for his kindness, generosity, humor and enthusiasm. He never met a stranger. Marc's favorite things in life were sports, annual trips to Las Vegas with his buddies, weekends at the beach house, his dogs, happy holidays at his home and volunteering on the Special Children's Committee at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
